The Final Touches

Image
For us all, the editing process was a crucial part of creating our film. We spent many hours reviewing footage, piecing together the story, syncing audio and video, and color grading. It was a time-consuming process, but we knew it was necessary to create the final product we wanted. One of the challenges we faced was deciding which shots to use and in what order. We had to make sure that the story flowed well and that each shot added to the overall narrative. We also had to be mindful of pacing, tone, and mood. First Scenes Filmed

Image
Our group started filming on 2/26. The first part we filmed were scenes 1-4. The weather on 2/26 was good because it didn't rain which allowed us to use our main filming location instead of our backup plan. But on 2/27 it did rain when we were trying to film scenes 5-10. Since these scenes included more action we were only able to complete up until scene 14. The next day on 3/13 it was drizzling outside but instead of going to our backup location we waited because it was just a slight bit of rain. The rain eventually went away and we continued and finished filming scenes 15-20. On the next day we worked on the voiceovers for scenes 11-20 and ...

Final Genre Decision

Image
After looking over each genre, we decided that, in order for our pitch to be correctly formatted, that the thriller genre would fit. We came to this reason because the thriller genre is almost exactly how we want the opening sequence for our pitch to be like, scenes full of suspense and avid movements. The reason why horror genre wouldn’t work for our pitch was due to the plot having no horror sense at all. The plot of our pitch is greatly action-related and a horror genre wouldn't fit to all the scenes having more movement. Our opening sequence is based on a rivalry, not some upper entity who controls all of the environment around the protagonist, which is why horror genre would also not be a good fit. The action genre was another candidate but had felt as if it were the same type of energy as a horror film rather than an thriller. Throughout each and every action film I had researched on, there were lots of action and movement throughout scenes, however, most were spook-related i...
